The same fruit, dried, becomes much more concentrated because water is removed.
What changes the picture?
Juice removes much of the fibre and is easy to drink quickly. A piece of whole fruit generally takes more time and chewing.
“Vegetable” is not one carb category

From leafy to starchy
Non-starchy vegetables tend to be lower density. Potatoes, corn and legumes are more carbohydrate-dense and can play a different role on the plate.
Higher-carbohydrate vegetables can still be nutrient-rich choices.

A small handful is nutrient-dense but also energy-dense. Nut butters can be easy to over-serve because they have little water and high fat content.

Added sugars can move a dairy food from modest to much higher carbohydrate density.
Watch the serving unit
Milk is commonly consumed as 200–250 mL; yoghurt may be 150–200 g. Compare like with like when choosing between products.
Alcohol is not the same as carbohydrate

Carbohydrate in common drinks
A drink can be low in carbohydrate yet still contribute substantial energy from alcohol. Mixers, liqueurs and syrups add carbohydrate quickly.
Alcohol content, pour size and mixer all change the practical impact.

The volume trap
A 600 mL bottle at 10 g/100 mL contains roughly 60 g carbohydrate — even though the density number looks small.
Liquid carbohydrate is often consumed rapidly and may not create the same fullness as a solid food.
Formulation can concentrate carbohydrate
